Firm unveils platform to manage business device lifecycles

A Nigerian technology firm, gamp, has introduced a platform that helps companies manage the full lifecycle of their office devices, including leasing, insurance, repairs and swaps.

The Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the firm, Mr Boluwatife Omotayo, announced this development during a press briefing with The Guardian in Lagos.

He said the redesigned platform, known as gamp for Business, was developed to help companies manage their work devices in a more structured way.

“At gamp, we’re a software company that’s built a platform to help businesses acquire, manage, and support their devices throughout the entire lifecycle. On the gamp for Business platform, companies can choose from multiple acquisition and payment options to get the devices they need.” he said.

Omotayo explained that the platform provides flexible payment options, including lease-to-own plans and monthly subscriptions for Device Protection.

He added that businesses can also rent devices for short-term needs such as for training or temporary staffing gaps..

“We also have a rental product. It allows you to rent devices for short-term use, like when you are organising training or need a temporary laptop while waiting for your official device,” he added.

Speaking further, he described the company’s Device Protection Plan feature as a form of insurance or extended warranty.

According to him, the service covers repairs and replacement in case of theft or damage.

“One of our first customers was spending a lot of money repairing their devices. So we introduced our Device Protection Plan, and now, whenever they need to fix a device, we do it for them without charging extra,” he said.

Omotayo said the platform also offers repair services that are safer and more reliable than informal vendors at Computer Village.

Also speaking, the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at gamp, Mr Toluwani Famokunwa, said the platform was designed to keep teams productive without device-related disruptions.

“gamp for Business helps companies keep their teams productive without device-related interruptions. We have the best device procurement, protection, management experiences—plus flexible payment options—to make equipping your teams simple and stress-free.”

He added that unlike traditional vendors, gamp’s model is built as a single platform that covers financing, repairs, and secure management.

The company said it is backed by investors like Future Africa, Ingressive Capital, First Circle Capital, and Kaleo Ventures.
