THE Chairman of Isoko North Local Government, Emmanuel Egbabor, on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, unveiled the newly redesigned Isoko North Certificate of Identification/Origin thereby putting an end to the issuance of the old certificate which has been in use for 24 years since the local council was created in 1991.

Speaking during the unveiling, Hon. Egbabor said the council decided to redesign a new certificate of identification for the people of Isoko North because the previous one that was introduced since the creation of the local council in 1991 lacks certain security features and does not conform with modern day realities.

“The redesigned certificate was beautifully designed with aesthetic values and has some new security features that will prevent people from faking it easily unlike the previous one.”

“The new certificate has the Council seal, serial number and a counterfoil that makes it very easy to have records of issued certificates at a glance.”

“The purpose was not really the revenue that will be generated to the council, we felt there is the need to give the people of Isoko North value for their money and to also bequeath them with a certificate of origin that they can be proud of anytime they present it anywhere,” he said.

The Head of Identification Unit in the Local Council, Mr Godson Ogwah, said the previous one was more like a letter and does not depict a proper certificate while the new one is more of a certificate.

He commended the Chairman for the foresight in approving the redesigning of the certificate which has long been over due.

Present at the unveiling were the Vice-Chairman, Hon. Anthony Odhe, Secretary to the Local Council, Barr. Vote Umukoro, Personal Assistant to the Chairman Mr. Anthony Egodi, Head of Identification Unit in the council, Mr Godson Ogwah and Assistant Head of Unit, Mr Clement Akpoedafe.
