The management of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has abolished the conduct of e-examinations in the institution.

The institution’s senate had, in November proposed to stop electronically based exams as part of efforts to avoid technical errors it had dealt with in the past.

The institution’s director on senate and academic matters, Filibus Yamta Mishelia who first broke the news last November, in another circular explained that examinations at all levels are to be conducted manually, using pen and paper, and directed lecturers to comply.

He further explained that in the case of continuous assessments, lecturers are permitted to conduct e-based tests where the class size is large.

Mishelia said, “I have been directed to inform you by the management of the university that examinations at all levels are to be conducted using the pen-to-paper mode. Lecturers are however at liberty to conduct continuous assessment tests using the examination where classes are large.
