Lafiaji-Okuneye, at a press conference to review activities of the college, said the school has step up measures to adopt best standard in teaching profession.
The provost said: “We are determined more than ever to transform the college to teachers institute that we all desire. The huge achievements of the college administration underscore the ingenuity and rare purposeful leadership of the present administration.
“For instance, prompt payment of salaries and arrears are proofs of industrial harmony and improved productivity currently being witnessed in the college.”
She said as the college is preparing for its 39th and 40th joint convocation ceremonies, arrangements are in top gear for the adoption of the college Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre as CBT centre for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
While emphasising the importance of partnerships and collaborations in institutional development, Lafiaji-Okuneye said the synergy between government, privileged organisations and affluent Nigerians has helped in securing improved teacher education.
“The college has attracted a plethora of facilities and initiatives including construction of a 250-seater lecture theatre donated by a consortium of insurance companies, a befitting entrance gate and an ultra-modern relaxation park for the college.”
The provost added that with the newly adopted security measures put in place, cultism and other vices among students have been significantly curtailed.
“However, I wish to reiterate as always that cultism is a criminal case and government is doing all it could to curb this menace. Against this background, anyone caught involved in cultism or related activities will be prosecuted by the government including staffs,” the provost added.
