
Ehika Patience Precious expertly known as ‘HIKA’, is a singer, songwriter, and a creative performing artiste. She may be young but Hika has mastered an art many can’t in a lifetime: telling it how it is. This new act to the Nigerian music industry isn’t confined to a specific genre as she’s able to dabble with a wide range of music genres including, Pop, Reggae, Soul and Afro-pop. Birthed in Lagos, Nigeria, originally from Imo State, now living in the USA— she was born on the 14th of January.

Hika started off as a fraud Analyst, switched to running a restaurant and other small businesses/ side hustles. She kicked off her music career in 2017. The late Lucky Dube is an artist who, along with the likes of Adele, Camila Cabello, has played a pivotal role in her own musical journey. “I love the soul depth in their voices,” she admits. Asides these artistes, ideally, Hika would be honored to do a collaboration with artistes like Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Burna boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Davido, and Tems.
The artist is destined for stardom, with her current tracks doing the numbers and has so far garnered over 100k plus streams across all platforms. She is one creative who expresses herself and her emotions through music. Her sound reincarnated from old and new school sounds, which is why her most used/popular hashtag is- #reHIKAnation. She dropped her first single— it was titled “Honeygram” produced by Emmyshine and decided to push further in her musical pursuit. Hika later dropped her second official debut single with a video titled – Go Crazy directed by Dr Nell also produced by Emmyshine.

My kind of song is always one where the vocals are delivered to perfection while the simplicity of the melody will make you want to sing along. Also worth mentioning, the instrumentation and its arrangement should get one so addicted to the sound from the first listen. The harmonies must be a killer.
Hika’s last project ‘Way Back Love’ EP showed her range as a recording artist as she was able to deliver solidly on her love-themed project with three solid tracks. She urges her growing fan base to expect music, music and more music from her. His overarching philosophy is that “Life in itself is a freestyle, Treat it like such. Do what you love the way you love to do it and if you fail in the process, it will be a learning experience and not a regrettable one”. When asked what strengths she has that makes her a good artist, she concluded the interview with “I never quit, even when I fail sometimes, I keep moving till I win”.
