Prominent activist Hamzat Lawal has expressed his commendation for the appointment of Bashir Suleiman Zuntu as the Accountant General of Kaduna State by Governor Uba Sani. The appointment was announced by Muhammad Shehu Molash, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, on Thursday, July 27, and it takes immediate effect.

Lawal praised Governor Sani’s decision to appoint Zuntu, emphasizing that it reflects the Governor’s dedication to bringing capable and experienced individuals into crucial positions to serve the people of Kaduna. He also encouraged other state governors to follow this example and appoint young, competent, and experienced administrators to key roles in their respective states.

Lawal highlighted Zuntu’s credentials, noting that he is a chartered accountant, monitoring and evaluation specialist, and astute administrator. He pointed out that Zuntu’s track record as a senior accountant in federal ministries and his leadership as the executive chairman of Kubau Local Government in Kaduna State demonstrate his dedication to excellence and competence.

With Zuntu’s academic accomplishments, including a Master of Science degree in finance from Coventry University, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Abuja, Lawal believes that Zuntu’s dedication to continuous learning and professional growth will be an asset in his new role.

Lawal expressed confidence that Zuntu’s skills and competencies in financial management, financial inclusion and public administration, and strategy development and implementation will be instrumental in enhancing financial management and transparency within Kaduna State.

He also extended his well-wishes to Zuntu, expressing optimism that the citizens of Kaduna State will witness the positive impact of Zuntu’s leadership and expertise as the new Accountant General. He wished Zuntu every success in his new role in serving the people of Kaduna State.
