Odusola conveyed his decision to the Speaker of the Ondo State Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, through a letter, citing an ex-parte order from an Abuja Federal High Court as reason for his non-compliance.
His position came after the expiration of a seven-day deadline given by the Assembly to establish the panel tasked with investigating 14 allegations leveled against Aiyedatiwa.
Confirming the development, Majority Leader of the Assembly, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, acknowledged receipt of the Chief Judge’s letter by the Speaker.
According to him, Section 188 (10) of the 1999 Constitution is clear about the impeachment process. He said the Assembly will follow due process on the issue, not having breached any process.
Ogunmolasuyi further said the Assembly will not back down on the impeachment, affirming that the law would be followed.
