With the exponential growth of data in every industry, the ability to extract insights from vast amounts of information is one that holds immense power and value. Yet, across Africa, a concerning skills gap is leaving many professionals ill-equipped to navigate this opportunity and digital landscape, threatening to widen the continent’s divide with the rest of the world.

Founded by Oluwatayo Winkunle, a former sales and marketing professional at a top Commercial Bank who experienced the transformative power of upskilling firsthand, Techlytics is a technology workforce development and consulting company that’s tackling Africa’s data skills crisis head-on.

“After working in sales and marketing, I realized the importance of data in business decision-making,” Oluwatayo Winkunle shares. “In 2019, I took a Business Analytics Certification course with Harvard Business School Online and further enhanced my skills with tools like Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Python. This experience ignited my passion for helping others reskill and advance their careers.”

The company’s roots can be traced back to 2020 when the founder Oluwatayo Winkunle began teaching Data Analysis with Microsoft Excel on her YouTube channel amidst the COVID-19 lockdown, sharing her expertise as a former sales and marketing professional who had reskilled herself in data analytics. This initiative eventually evolved into Techlytics. They also offer self-paced video courses that empower individuals to acquire new skills at their own pace. And soon will be hosting their next cohort in June,2024.

With a proven track record of training professionals from leading organizations like Intense Digital Technologies, the Nigerian Employers Consultative Association (NECA), and Sterling Bank.

Techlytics is leaving an indelible mark on Africa’s digital landscape. “The impact of Techlytic’s work extends far beyond individual growth; it’s a catalyst for closing Africa’s digital divide and empowering the continent’s workforce with the skills of the future.’Adenike Adeyeye, Techlytics’ Lead Data Analyst, added.
