The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, last week, ended its Month of Jubilee programme with a call from the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, to Christians to be practical Christians and not careless believers.

He assured practical Christians of God’s blessings if they continue to maintain everything he has thought them from the scriptures, saying careless Christians and backsliders have no right to God’s blessings.
Muoka, who gave the admonition at the headquarters of the church in Ijesha, Lagos, spoke on the theme, “Freedom From The Captives,” taken from Isaiah 61:1; Psalm 126:1; Luke 6:31, 38; Galatians 6:7; and Matthew 5:18.

Stressing that those who are ignorant of the Lord will always be captured by the enemy,Muoka urged Christians to know the truth about God and be free from the enemy, he identified as the devil.

“When you claim to know God and you are living in sin the devil will capture you. If you keep on committing sin, the devil will claim you as his property. If you are born again you will not continue in sin because you have left the devil, he cannot attack you any more. Therefore, be a Christian, indeed, and void of sin,” he said.

Calling on Christians not to give the devil the slightest opportunity to come into their lives, Muoka noted that the devil has nothing good to offer anybody, adding that the devil is a destroyer and has destroyed so many people who are today licking their wounds.

He admonished those who are stingy in paying their tithes and giving offerings to change, quoting Malachi 3:8 that says: ‘Will a man rob God…?’

He said: “If you don’t pay your tithe or offering, the devil will ravage your life. If God is not happy with you, the devil will take advantage of that to capture you, therefore, pay your vows to the Most High, so, when you call on him, he will answer and bless you.”

Explaining how the children of Israel suffered terribly in the hands of their enemies for years because of sin, Muoka counselled Christians never to provoke God.
Enumerating ways Christians can escape the entrapment of the devil, the General Overseer said: “Don’t confess negatively when you are in any trouble like John the baptist. Don’t because of your situation provoke God. A zealous Christian can be captured by the devil. For example, if you don’t have faith in God, you can be captured. Somebody can be captured as a result of persecution. A believer that is prayerless, careless can also be captured by the devil. A believer that is not holy can be captured by the enemy.”

The cleric, however, urged Christians to arm themselves with prayer, faith, maintain holiness, knowledge of God’s word, total dependence on the Lord, know the truth, renounce secret cults and avoid stealing, among others.
