
President, lFMA Nigeria, Mr Olalekan Akinwunmi, gave the charge at the 2024 second induction ceremony of the association in Lagos.

He explained that the induction was significant, demonstrating what the association stands for in terms of ensuring standards in the art of facility management.
Akinwunmi challenged the inductees that it was time to demonstrate their skills, and savage the huge investment in infrastructure in public and private life.
“We need to be strategic and skilful in addressing challenges while discharging our duties as facility managers. I would like to remind or inform you that the profession is a thankless one; people refuse to understand your role, always thinking you are the one spending the entire budget.
“People remember your existence when the operation is disturbed, always encourage yourself by yourself. The facility manager thinks of a safe environment, functioning assets, and equipment,” he said.
The IFMA president appealed to members to always do their best in putting smiles on the faces of facility owners and occupants, adding that the association will always be there to assist in optimal performance.
