The Special Adviser to the Niger State Governor on Digital Media and Strategy, Abdulberqy Usman Ebbo, has said efforts to ensure the landmark successes on Governor Bago’s New Niger Agenda that the state government has embarked on with the construction of 100 units of Level 2 Primary Health Care (PHCs) will be achieved without hitches across the state.

According to a statement by Ebbo in Minna, the governor has further announced that about 20 of these centers will commence immediately while others will come subsequently.

He stressed that two out of the said numbers of facilities – located at Maitumbi FM in Bosso and Old Orphanage, Nasarawa C in Chanchaga local councils – could not begin due to little technical issues.

He hinted that Governor Bago assured that these Level 2 Primary Healthcare Centres will be situated across the 25 local councils of the state so that people can access quality healthcare services within their communities without having to travel far.

“The centers will be equipped with modern facilities such as beds, maternity equipment, computers and 24-hour solar power system among others to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to the people.”

Ebbo also maintained that out of the 100 level-2 primary healthcare centers to be constructed, about 20 is set to be completed in the next few weeks an indication that the present administration under the leadership of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has prioritised the health sector to enhanced better health care facilities in the state.

The S.A Digital Media and Strategy also revealed the following locations for the site of the ongoing projects: Chanchaga – Old Airport, Tunga Bay Clinic Road and Kpakungu while Kontagora has Commercial School and Kawo Ward.

Others are Gurara – Lefu, Suleja – Second Gate, Lavun – Doko, Lapai – Duma Zago Ward, Shiroro – Rafin Kuka, Bosso – Garatu and Wushishi – Maito

The rest include Paiko – Tungan Mallam Bida – Gbagbara, Agwara – Mago, Mariga – Kumbashi,bKatcha – Kateregi and Gbako – Gbadafu respectively

Recall that on June 2024, Governor Bago performed the groundbreaking for the construction of the Level 2 primary healthcare centers in Minna, the Niger State capital.
