Ikemesit Nkereuwem-Tim wins Creative Director of the Year at Golden Stars Award 2024


Ikemesit Nkereuwem-Tim, an internationally recognised professional in the United Kingdom Higher Education recruitment and the founder of SneakerFest has won this year’s Golden Stars Award in the Creative Director category.

Ikemesit Nkereuwem-Tim, a retired professional motorcycle racer, trained journalist and former blogger, was nominated alongside Afrobeat icons like Rema, Asake, Skales, Burna Boy, Nollywood actors and actress like Laide Bakare, Hafiz Oyetoro, Kunle Afod, Yewande Adekoya and others at this year’s award.

Ikemesit who is also known as 28BaadBlood joined his fellow nominees to bag the award on June 2, 2024 at The Lekki Coliseum, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State.

Ikemesit was represented by his brothers, Kemfon and Kufre Nkereuwem to receive the award on his behalf on stage. In their words “Our brother sent his heartfelt regards, and he appreciates the organisers of this epoch event for the honour bestowed on him, he would have been glad to be here however, he is currently in the United Kingdom.”

Ikemesit was born in Etinan, Akwa Ibom State, barely four decades ago and has always had a passion for creativity, art, entertainment and sports. Before creating Sneaker Fest, he had a single in 2011 titled ‘Ballin’ which enjoyed airplay on Cool FM, Wazobia FM and TopFM.

He was also very actively involved in Motorsports, ran a motorbike racing blog, published three magazines on Motorcycle Racing in Nigeria and raced competitively with Great Success until his retirement in 2018 due to an auto crash while preparing for the 2018 Nigerian Superbikes Championship.

In 2017, Ikemesit ‘BadBlood 28’ was the Vice Champion of the Superbike Nigeria Championship in the 600 Super Sport category racing the 2011 Kawasaki ZX6R Ninja. He also in 2017 formed the first ever Motorsports Race Team when he paired with Ahmed ‘Alpacino47’ Mohammed to form the #OddInstinctGremansiRacingTeam – They ran away with the 1st and 2nd spots trophies becoming the first and only Motorsports race team to do so. 2018 saw Ikemesit and Jack ‘AirBenda41’ Affara teaming up to form Throttle Heads Racing winning silver in the 1000CC Superbikes class. Again, with Jack ‘AirBenda41’ Affara, Ikemesit won the Superbike Nigeria Championship in 2019 in the 600CC Category and had completed being on the rostrum both as a racer as well as a team owner across all classes. He was the first person ever to do so.

His love for motor racing extends beyond Nigeria and Africa as he has been involved in Motorsports events around the world. Notably, in 2019 Ikemesit worked with the three Times UAESBK Champion, Saska Totaro (Ducati Racing) in the United Arab Emirates Superbikes and was part of the team.
