The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Department of State Services (DSS) Oyo State Command, have partnered to combat smuggling and arms proliferation in the state.
As part of its collaborative efforts, the State Director of Security, Department of State Services (DSS) Oyo State Command, Mr. R.A. Adelakun and Corps Commander, Rosemary Alo paid a visit to the Oyo/Osun Area Command, Dr. Ben Oramalugo at its headquarters in Ibadan.
Oramalugo expressed his appreciation for their visit, noting that it underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in combating security threats.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Oyo/Osun Area Command to working closely with other security agencies to safeguard the nation’s borders.
Oramalugo added that their support is invaluable in the Command’s efforts to suppress smuggling and ensure that goods transported on the highways comply with the laws of the land.
According to him, the visit would further strengthen the already existing partnership between the agencies, and look forward to continued collaboration to achieve mutual objectives. The duo, in separate remarks, highlighted the crucial role of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in curbing illicit trade and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
They pledged their support for customs operations, including joint surveillance efforts, facilitate legitimate trade, and resource-sharing, aimed at fostering a secure environment condusive to economic growth.
