CIPM Inaugurates Ibese-Ilaro chapter

On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) inaugurated its newest chapter, the Ibese-Ilaro Chapter of CIPM Ogun State Branch, in a grand ceremony hosted at the Dangote Cement Plant in Ibese. This milestone event welcomed a dynamic group of professionals committed to enhancing human resource practices and advancing professional development across Ogun State.

The newly sworn-in executives of the Ibese-Ilaro Chapter are Mrs. Abolanle Balogun-Adesunloye, MCIPM as Chairman, Mrs. Cynthia Osakunih, ACIPM as Vice Chairman, Mr. James Kosobameji, ACIPM as General Secretary, Mrs. Genevive Eriba-Eru, ACIPM as Assistant General Secretary, Mr. Oladipupo Oloyede, ACIPM as Treasurer, Ms. Tolulope Bamiro, ACIPM as Financial Secretary, and Mr. Alhassan Muhammad, ACIPM as Public Relations Officer. The chapter’s Ex-Officio members are Mr. Olugbenga Aina, ACIPM, Mr. Jibril Gambari, MCIPM, and Mr. Abubakar Abdulkareem, ACIPM.

The event began with a warm welcome from Engr. Sean Olabode Badiru, MCIPM, Chairman of the CIPM Ogun State Branch, who emphasized the importance of professional networking in fostering growth and unity within the HR community. Following his opening remarks, he officially swore in the new chapter executives.

The formal inauguration of the chapter was carried out by Ms. Oluwatoyin Naiwo, FCIPM, Registrar of CIPM. She applauded the efforts of members and urged the chapter to continue striving for excellence, ensuring that high standards in HR practice are maintained.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Nurudeen Yusuf, MCIPM, Head of Learning and Development at Dangote Cement Plc, on behalf of Mrs. Gloria Byamugisha, Group Chief Human Resource Officer of Dangote Cement Plc. His address, titled “Building a Thriving HR Community: The Power of Collaboration,” emphasized the critical role of collaboration in enhancing HR practices and creating a supportive professional network. He highlighted the importance of sharing knowledge, fostering innovation, and building robust support systems to navigate challenges and drive progress in HR.

Key dignitaries present at the event included Mrs. Dunni Ogun Adetona, ACIPM, Vice Chairman of the CIPM Ogun State Branch; Mr. Olutayo Olawale, MCIPM, Director of Membership and Market Development; Adesola Ajibola, MCIPM, Team Lead of Branch Development and Zonal Affairs; and Mrs. Seyimusa Semughana, ACIPM, Zonal Officer of CIPM’s Southwest Zone.

In recognition of their dedication to workforce development, Dangote Cement Plc. received an Award of Recognition for its ongoing support, including providing a dedicated secretariat for the new CIPM Ibese-Ilaro Chapter. Four pioneer members were also honoured for their dedication to establishing the chapter since 2019: Alhaji Abdulmalik Shehu, MCIPM; Mallam Abu Sufyan Yusuf, MCIPM; Pastor Anthony Boluwaduro Sule, MCIPM; and Mrs. Abolanle Balogun-Adesunloye, MCIPM.

With the inauguration of the Ibese-Ilaro Chapter, CIPM continues to expand its footprint in Nigeria, fostering a thriving HR community dedicated to collaboration, excellence, and professional development.
