The groups political rally, tagged “Tinubu Must Re-run Again”,was led by the National Coordinator of Tinubu Must Re-run Again, along with the Yobe State APC Youth Leader, Mohammad Musa Gulani, was organised by the state chapter of the party.
The re-election street rally took place between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., drawing a large turnout of youths, men, and women who paraded along the Damaturu–Potiskum Road.
During the rally, APC supporters displayed posters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Baba Mallam Wali, and Governor Mai Mala Buni, as well as party flags and placards highlighting the administration’s achievements and endorsing Tinubu’s continued stay in office beyond 2027.
The rally was described as a countermeasure to the emerging “Tinubu Must Go” rallies staged by opposition figures seeking to portray the President as unpopular.
At the rally, security was effective, and the crowd remained orderly throughout the four-hour march. There were no reports of violence, destruction of property, or any untoward incident.
The event concluded without incident, and the spontaneous participation of additional residents who joined the procession in celebration reflected appreciable public support for the APC in Yobe State.
“We are here to show our support for Mr. President, and we have done so peacefully. This rally is a clear message that the people of Yobe stand with the APC and its leadership. We thank our supporters for their discipline and maturity,” said Musa
The peaceful conduct of the rally underscores a mature political atmosphere in the state, where supporters were able to express their democratic rights freely and responsibly.
The political rally also stands in contrast to the often tense climate surrounding political gatherings elsewhere, highlighting Yobe State’s commitment to orderly and violence-free political engagement.
The APC state hierarchy has described the rally as a success, noting that the large and peaceful turnout demonstrates the party’s strong grassroots support in the state.
As the 2027 general elections approach, the Damaturu rally serves as a notable example of peaceful political expression one that allows citizens to voice their support without disruption and reflects a growing culture of democratic maturity in Nigeria’s political landscape.
