The Board of Trustees of Wigwe University has appointed Justice Amina Augie as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council and Prof. Marwan Al-Akaidi as substantive Vice-Chancellor of the institution.

The school, in a statement by the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Prof. Fabian Ajogwu (SAN), said the appointment underscored the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and innovation.

Al-Akaidi earlier served in an acting capacity and was Deputy Vice-Chancellor, research and innovation, while Justice Augie will succeed Prof. Julius Okojie.

The board noted that Al-Akaidi’s appointment marks a new chapter in the university’s journey to fostering a culture of academic rigour, scientific discovery, and entrepreneurial spirit.

It added that Augie exceptional leadership, integrity, and wealth of experience will be invaluable in guiding the institution towards its strategic goals and upholding its core values of excellence, innovation, and service.
