A United States-based firm, Amborion Consulting LLC, has announced the second edition of its flagship technology innovation challenge, Innov8 Hackathon 2025, aimed at fostering creativity and developing sustainable solutions to real-world challenges.
The programme, which runs from May 28 to June 14, 2025, is targeted at young Nigerian tech professionals, software developers, AI enthusiasts and mid-level IT practitioners.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the second Innov8 Hackathon continues to empower Nigerian talents by creating a collaborative digital environment for solving complex global problems through technology.
Participants would form teams of three to five members to identify pressing issues and develop IT-driven solutions across various domains like climate change, data analysis, agriculture, stock management, and other technology-focused sectors.
According to the organisers, the hackathon aims to unlock the potential of Nigeria’s tech ecosystem by providing participants with access to cash prizes, mentorship from global experts, certificates of participation, and opportunities for further professional development.
The panel of judges for the second edition features distinguished professionals of Nigerian descent from across the globe, including Senior Product Manager, Amazon USA, Ahmed Ogundimu; Tech & Product Leader, Samuel Mayowa; Data Expert, United Kingdom, Tosin Ojo; Product Designer, Nigeria, Emmanuel Nwoye, and PhD Computer Science Student, USA, Samuel Adedeji.
The judging criteria would include creativity, technical complexity, usability, and the potential impact of each solution. A Senior Business Consultant and Corporate Strategist at Amborion Consulting LLC, New York, United States, Dr Joshua Oyeniyi, said the overarching vision of the hackathon was to empower innovative minds to transform ideas into impactful solutions, promoting a collaborative ecosystem where technology and creativity converge to address real-world challenges.
