We’re building leaders, shaping nations, says Okoye

Dr. Lotanna Okoye, a renowned leadership strategist and human capital development consultant, said he is championing a new wave of transformational leadership, youth empowerment, and public speaking across the continent.

As the Director General of the Professional Public Speaking & Leadership Academy (PPSLA Africa) and Lead Consultant at Honeypot Ideal Services, Dr. Okoye is building platforms that empower individuals and institutions to lead with influence and clarity.

Speaking on the heart of his mission, he remarked, “We are unlocking Africa’s greatest asset—its people. I saw a troubling gap: incredibly intelligent, passionate individuals who lacked the leadership, communication, and soft skills required to thrive in a competitive world.”

Okoye said his entrepreneurial journey is rooted in purpose. His work spans youth development, professional training, and organisational consulting.

As the Founder of Teens Resource & Enhancement Centre International (TREC International), he has mentored thousands of young people, preparing them not just for jobs but for leadership roles.

“I stepped into the space to solve the problem of disempowered potential,” he said. “Entrepreneurship was never just about business—it was about building systems, creating solutions, and multiplying impact.”

Despite early resistance to the importance of soft skills in national development, Dr. Okoye remained steadfast. “When I started advocating for public speaking and leadership, many didn’t see their immediate value,” he recalled. “But I focused on delivering impact-first solutions… credibility is not demanded—it’s earned.”

To date, his work has empowered over 20,000 professionals and youths through capacity-building programs, training for government agencies, safety and performance consulting, and mentorship. Through his media platforms, including “Yes You Can” and “Ask The Mentor”, he continues to shape minds and ignite action across Africa.

“My leadership style is transformational. I believe people rise to the level of the environment you create. I focus on vision, mentorship, and modeling excellence,” Dr. Okoye said, explaining how he motivates his team to deliver consistently high-impact results.

Looking ahead, his ambitions remain bold and continent-wide. “In the next 5–10 years, we want PPSLA Africa to become the foremost public speaking and leadership hub in at least 10 African countries,” he stated. “We also plan to complete our African Teens Development Center in Abuja and impact over a million young people through TREC.”

His advice for aspiring entrepreneurs? “Start with purpose, stay consistent, and build with people in mind. Don’t chase trends; solve real problems. Entrepreneurship is not just about making money—it’s about making meaning.”

Through vision, resilience, and action, Dr. Lotanna Okoye is not only building businesses—he is nurturing movements that are redefining leadership and shaping Africa’s future.
