Ambassador Folasade Agbeluyi was recognised as the Philanthropist of the Year at the Golden Stars Award ceremony held recently in Lagos. The event brought together notable personalities to acknowledge her contributions to economic development and community empowerment.
Ambassador Folasade’s philanthropic work, notably through her FOF Foundation and the “Feeding for All” initiative launched in September 2023, was highlighted during the ceremony. The initiative focuses on addressing hunger via food banks and mentorship programs. Her approach combines immediate relief with long-term community support.
In her acceptance speech, Amb. Folasade reflected on her motivation, saying, “From hunger to hardship, I’ve seen it all. That pain made me compassionate, not cold. Even when good is repaid with betrayal, I won’t stop. Helping others is my purpose, not a performance.” She dedicated the award to “every silent fighter” and emphasized her continued commitment to making a difference.
Ambassador Folasade’s entrepreneurial journey began with the founding of PoshGlow Skincare in 2017. As a certified beautician trained at the London Academy of Beauty, she created a brand offering 100% natural and organic skincare products, filling a market need in Nigeria. PoshGlow addresses common skin challenges and promotes self-confidence among users.
Looking forward, Amb. Folasade plans to expand the FOF Foundation through the FOF 2025 Initiative, aiming to provide vocational training for 1,000 youths and distribute 500 food boxes to widows and vulnerable groups. She also intends to grow PoshGlow’s presence across Nigeria.
The Golden Stars Award acknowledged Amb. Folasade’s past achievements and ongoing dedication to philanthropy and community development, underscoring her role in fostering positive social change.
