Katsina State Governor, Dr. Dikko Radda, has extended warm congratulations to Governor Monday Okpebholo following the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his victory as the duly elected Governor of Edo State.
A statement by one of the governor’s spokespersons, Ibrahim Mohammed, said Governor Radda described the Supreme Court judgment as a testament to the strength of Nigeria’s democratic institutions and the rule of law.
“I congratulate my brother, Governor Monday Okpebholo, on this well-deserved victory. The Supreme Court has spoken, and democracy has prevailed. This victory belongs not just to Governor Okpebholo, but to the good people of Edo State who have demonstrated their faith in democratic governance,” the statement quoted Radda as saying.
Governor Radda urged the Edo State governor to adopt an inclusive leadership style that transcends party lines and political affiliations.
“I encourage you to see this mandate as a sacred trust from all Edo people – those who voted for you and those who didn’t. True leadership lies in governing for everyone, building bridges across divides, and focusing on the collective prosperity of the state,” he said.
Radda emphasised the importance of unity in driving development, noting that Edo State’s progress depends on collaborative efforts from all stakeholders.
The governor wished Okpebholo a successful tenure and assured him of Katsina State’s readiness to collaborate on initiatives that promote interstate cooperation and national development.
