GLG Communications has announced a series of global events to mark World PR Day 2025, with activities scheduled from July 15 to July 18 under the theme “Building Bridges & Navigating Polarisation”.
Three main events were announced by the public relations and reputation management firm in a statement to address the growing global concerns about misinformation, trust, and societal division.
“In a world increasingly shaped by complex narratives, the role of public relations has never been more vital,” said Omawumi Ogbe, Managing Partner at GLG Communications and creator of the PR Power List.
“This isn’t just an event; it’s a call to action for our industry to lead with empathy, strategy, and integrity.”
Among the events planned for the 2025 World PR Day is the Global Virtual Summit on Tuesday, July 15: An influential virtual assembly of voices from around the world in business, strategy, and communications. Andras Sztaniszlav (ICCO), Marian Ogaziechi (Dentsu Agyle), Mercy Eke (Reality TV Star & Actress), Francesca Uriri (Meta), Fatou B. Barry (PR Girl Manifesto), and Yomi Badejo-Okusanya (CMC Connect) are among the speakers scheduled to speak at the summit.
On Wednesday, July 16, the highly anticipated 2025 PR Power List will be unveiled, honouring 50 of the best and most creative PR professionals in Nigeria and the diaspora. The Guardian will collaborate with us to publish the list both digitally and in print.
The PR Power List Soirée and Awards is slated for Friday, July 18, to honour the PR Power List’s 2025 honourees at Alliance Française Ikoyi in Lagos, Nigeria.
Speakers include Ruth Kadiri (filmmaker and CEO, Ruth Kadiri Productions), Victoria Uwadoka (Nestlé Nigeria), Jide Sipe (Bank of Industry), Kwame Senou (Edelman), and Tolulope Olorundero (Nigerian Women in PR). The event will be hosted by renowned media personality Layole Oyatogun.
“In 2025, the communications landscape is more complex than ever, shaped by political polarisation, AI-driven misinformation, and a widening global trust deficit,” said Grzegorz Szczepański, CEO of ICCO.
“This year’s World PR Day theme, Building Bridges & Navigating Polarisation, is not just timely, it’s essential. As a proud partner of this global movement, ICCO supports efforts to spotlight the critical role of ethical and empathetic communication. It is our collective responsibility as PR professionals, business leaders, and influencers to foster dialogue, rebuild trust, and lead with clarity in a divided world.”
