Don’t pass your responsibility off to your nation or even your church. You are accountable to God for what you do.
(6) Failure To Make A Distinction Between Good And Evil
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21: Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! 22: Woe to men mighty at drinking wine … valiant for mixing intoxicating drink. 23: Who justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away justice from the righteous man!” (Is 5:20-23).
5:20: When people do not carefully observe the distinction between good and evil, destruction soon follows. People may say: “No one can decide for anyone else what is really right or wrong.” They may think getting drunk cannot hurt them, extramarital sex is not really wrong, or money does not control them. But when we make excuses for our actions, we break down the distinction between right and wrong. If we do not take God’s Word, the Bible, as our standard, soon all moral choices will appear fuzzy. Without God, we are headed for a breakdown and much suffering.
(7) God Hates Leading A Nation/People To Sin
“Because of the sins of Jeroboam, which he had sinned and by which he had made Israel sin, because of his provocation with which he had provoked the Lord God of Israel to anger,” (1Kgs 15:30)
All the descendants of Jeroboam were killed because Jeroboam had led Israel into sin. Sin is always judged harshly, but the worst sinners are those who lead others into doing wrong. Jesus said it would be better if such people had millstones tied around their necks and were thrown into the sea (Mark 9:42). If you have taken the responsibility for leading others, remember the consequences of leading them astray. Teaching the truth is a responsibility that goes with the privileged of leadership.
(8) God Hates Offering Stolen Items To Him
“For 1, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering,” (Is 61:8). “And you bring the stolen, the lame and the sick; thus you bring an offering! Should I accept this from your hand?” Says the Lord. 14: “But cursed be the deceiver who has in his flock a male, and takes a vow, but sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished — for I am a great King,” Says the Lord of hosts, “and My name is to be feared among the nations,” (Mal 1:13, 14).
(9) God Hates Irresponsible Leaders
“Woe to the worthless shepherd, who leaves the flock! A sword shall be against his arm and against his right eye; his arm shall completely wither, and his right eye shall be totally blinded.” (Zec 11:17).
