Tinubu’s leadership style has strengthened APC, says national woman leader

President Bola Tinubu

The National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Mary Alile-Idele, has stated that President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style has stabilised and strengthened the party, emphasising that the party is here to stay.

She attributed the feat to the numerous infrastructure projects undertaken by the Tinubu administration, which she explained had not left out any section of the country or gender.

Alilie stated in Enugu while inaugurating the women’s and elders’ wings of the state chapter that the party was poised to overcome every challenge towards a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections.

She thanked Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to the renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that the seeds of the reforms were everywhere, especially in the Eastern part of the country in infrastructure projects, including hitherto abandoned projects that are now being constructed or completed and essential amenities which are providing not just continuity but dignity to the people.

“The President is doing a lot to empower women. From financial inclusion initiatives to targeted capacity building programmes, the Tinubu administration is laying a solid foundation for Nigerian women to thrive.

“I call on all Enugu women and indeed all the women across the South East and Nigeria to continue to support Mr. President and the APC, let’s stand behind our party and our national chairman, Prof Nentawe Yilwadta in determining and ensuring that our support transcends into resounding victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027”, she said
Speaking at the occasion where APC women also endorsed Tinubu as their sole candidate in 2027, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, declared that with the exercise, APC had now taken firm root as the dominant political party in Enugu State. He said the party was now larger than the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Nnaji, while delivering his speech, declared that the party had now moved from zero to something big, “and we are now the largest party in Enugu state”.

He urged the women to remain steadfast in their support for the APC-led administration.

Nnaji said: “President Tinubu has shown, through the Renewed Hope Agenda, that women are not on the margins but at the very centre of Nigeria’s transformation. This is why we must continue to support his vision and work to ensure its success in 2027 and beyond.”

The APC Deputy National Chairman, South, Emma Eneukwu, in his remarks, thanked APC women of Enugu for coming out en masse to endorse President Tinubu, saying that it was a testimony to how organised the women of Enugu State are, and it also demonstrates the capacity of the party’s leadership in the state.

Eneukwu pledged APC’s support for the Reserved Seat for Women Bill awaiting passage in the National Assembly and expressed thanks to the APC leadership in South East under Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State, for their dedicated efforts in strengthening the party in the region.

“The women coming together to endorse President Tinubu’s second term is in tandem with what other members of the party are doing across the country… and I hope that with the mobilisation of the women and other stakeholders in the South East, the President will get more than 90 per cent of votes in the region in the 2027 presidential election,” he said.

The Enugu State APC Chairman, Ugochukwu Agballah, noted that the state chapter had been repositioned to lead the resurgence of APC in Enugu, with strong support from Chief Nnaji.

“Today, APC Enugu has been re-engineered to become the very hub of political transformation and empowerment of the women and party members in Enugu State,” he said.

The APC State Women Leader, Prof. Amaka Onu, reaffirmed the commitment of women to taking a more active role in governance and leadership.

House of Representatives member for Enugu North/Enugu South Federal Constituency, Chimaobi Atu, also backed the endorsement, stating that the APC-led government has already positively impacted many lives in Enugu State and across Nigeria through the provision of critical infrastructure, roads, and empowerment programmes.

“This endorsement is not just about politics, but about consolidating on what has already been started. 2027 will be a chance to deepen these gains,” Atu said.
