Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested a 53-year-old man, Kolawole Babawale, for allegedly abusing his 16-year-old niece and facilitating the termination of two pregnancies.

The victim reported her uncle at a police station, alleging that she had been subjected to repeated assaults.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olayinka Ayanlade, operatives from the gender-based offences unit were immediately mobilised and arrested the suspect at his residence in Igbado, Ondo West Local Council.

Ayanlade said: “The victim further alleged that the suspect engaged in the acts almost daily. Shockingly, the suspect had also facilitated the termination of her pregnancies on two occasions.
