Two men have died following a violent altercation over the sharing of money in the Ogunpa area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The incident occurred on Monday when the two, suspected to be area boys, reportedly disagreed over how to share money given to them.
The argument escalated into a knife fight, leaving both men with fatal injuries.
It was gathered that one of the men stabbed his opponent in the neck, killing him at the scene, while the other sustained a stab wound to his right wrist.
The injured man was reportedly rushed to a nearby hospital but died from excessive blood loss before receiving adequate medical attention.
The state’s police spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident in a statement yesterday.
“Yes, two persons stabbed themselves to death at Ogunpa over a mere argument, and an investigation has been launched into the mystery surrounding their death,” Ayanlade said.
