Youth council hails Junaidu’s appointment as investment tribunal chairman

The Northern Youth Council for Asiwaju (NYCA) has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Barrister Aminu Junaidu as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Securities Tribunal (IST).

Junaidu, a former Attorney-General of Zamfara State, officially assumed office on September 18, 2025, for a five-year tenure. His appointment is seen as a strategic step to strengthen Nigeria’s capital market, enhance investor confidence, and advance the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a statement, NYCA President, Comrade Usman Usman, described the appointment as “a well-thought-out decision reflecting the President’s dedication to competence and excellence.”

He said Junaidu, a seasoned technocrat with extensive legal and administrative experience, will bring professionalism and integrity to the tribunal. “His impeccable credentials and deep understanding of legal and financial systems make him the right choice to lead the IST,” Usman stated.

The council stressed that Junaidu’s leadership would streamline dispute resolution processes in the capital market, boost investor confidence, and attract both local and international investments.

It added that his appointment demonstrates the administration’s merit-driven approach to governance while also serving as a source of pride for Northern Nigeria.

“We are confident that his tenure will strengthen the tribunal’s efficiency and contribute significantly to economic growth, job creation, and stability,” Usman said, pledging NYCA’s support for the President’s transformative agenda.
