World Teachers’ Day: Remi Tinubu seeks action on teachers’ shortage

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has joined the global community in celebrating the 2025 World Teachers’ Day, saluting the dedication and resilience of teachers while calling for concerted efforts to address the global teacher shortage.

In her message to mark the Day, which has the theme “Focusing on the Global Teacher Shortage,” Senator Tinubu, on Sunday, described teaching as one of society’s noblest callings and emphasised the need to invest more in educators to strengthen the education sector.

“The shortage of teachers is a challenge we must confront with urgency by empowering educators, investing in their growth, and inspiring more people to join this noble profession,” she stated.

“As a lifelong teacher myself, I salute you all on this special day,” she said.
