Almond Productions Limited has celebrated excellence in Nigeria’s insurance sector with this year’s edition of its Insurance Industry Awards, tagged “Recharged Edition.”

The event, held in Lagos, recognised outstanding insurance companies, brokers, and professionals who have demonstrated innovation, resilience, and exceptional service within the industry.

NEM Insurance Plc emerged as the winner in the General Insurance Company of the Year Category, while AXA Mansard clinched Life Insurance Company of the Year.

While Casava Micro Insurance emerged as the winner, SCIB Nig & Co won Insurance Broking Company of the Year.
In the individual category, Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of REX Insurance, won the Insurance Woman of the Year, while Enitan Solarin, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, YOA Insurance Brokers, was crowned Insurance Broker of the Year.

The most coveted award of the night, Insurance Chief Executive Officer of the Year, went to Kunle Ahmed, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, AXA Mansard Insurance Plc. Ahmed, who is also the chairman of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA), has brought a lot of dynamism to AXA Mansard Insurance Plc.

Speaking on the award, the Managing Director/CEO of Almond Productions, Faith Ughwuode, said the keenly contested awards this year recorded over 17,000 votes from stakeholders within and outside the insurance industry.

She listed some of the criteria used to judge winners this year to include financial strength of companies (assets and shareholders’ fund), gross premium income, claims payment/speed, corporate social responsibility, and brand visibility, among others, for the companies.

For the individual categories, she said, length of service and contributions to the industry, performance of the company they lead, and strong leadership skills were used.
