The Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, MNIPR, was on Saturday honoured with the Outstanding Old Boy Award by the Alumni Association of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School (IJOGS).
The conferment, which took place during the school’s 113th Founders’ Day Celebration at the School Playground, Ijebu-Ode, was in recognition of his sterling qualities and outstanding contributions to public service.
Onasanya shines brightly as one of the school’s old students who have made significant contributions locally, nationally, and globally, reflecting the school’s enduring values of discipline, dedication, and integrity.
The award was presented to him by Senator Olorunimbe Mamowora, who served as Senator for the Lagos East Senatorial District from 2003 to 2011 and was Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly from 1999 to 2003.
Speaking at the event themed ‘Non Nobis Domine: 113 Years of Purpose, Pride and Progress, Onasanya expressed gratitude to the alumni association for the recognition.
“This institution has undeniably nurtured countless individuals who have made significant contributions locally, nationally, and globally. I would like to pay tribute to our pioneering forebears for their vision, sacrifice, and perseverance, which have bequeathed us a legacy of excellence. Their values of discipline, dedication, and integrity continue to inspire us. I am grateful to the alumni association for this honour, which motivates us to strive for greater heights,” the Ogun Head of Service said.
Among the award recipients are Senator Olorunimbe Mamowora, the MD of Ogun- Osun River Basin Development Authority. Engr Dr. Adedeji Ashiru, and Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, among others.
