The Island Club has mourned the passing of its former Chairman, renowned businessman and advertising mogul, Olumuyiwa Falomo, who died at the age of 87.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Club’s General Secretary, Ayodele Bankole, expressed deep regret over Falomo’s death, describing him as “an institution in his own right.”
The statement highlighted Falomo’s exceptional and selfless service to the club over several decades, during which he served in various capacities, including as a registered trustee, honorary general secretary and vice chairman.
The club said it had lost a consummate gentleman, master wordsmith and deep philosophical thinker whose contributions left a lasting legacy.
Similarly, the Chairman of St. Michael’s Care Services Limited and Presiding Apostle of Macedonia Call Global Assembly, Dr. Osaren Emokpae, also mourned the passing of Falomo, who was a patron of the organisation.
In a statement titled “A Tribute to a Life of Impact and Excellence,” Emokpae described the late Falomo as a man whose life was marked by generosity, inspiration and service.
“We are profoundly grateful for a life that gave generously, inspired excellence and touched countless lives,” Emokpae said.
“To us, Falomo was not merely a patron but a father — a constant source of wisdom, guidance and encouragement. He served with grace and distinction, leaving an indelible imprint on our organisation that will continue to inspire generations.”
Emokpae further described the deceased as a consummate professional and trailblazer whose unwavering dedication reflected excellence, integrity and selfless service.
“Certainly, he was one of the finest gentlemen of all time,” he added.
