THE Federal Fire Service (FFS), has conducted a scheduled fire safety simulation and evacuation exercise at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness in public facilities.
The exercise evaluated emergency response procedures and assessed the readiness of both occupants and safety personnel within the facility.
Following the simulation which was supervised by Superintendent of Fire Murtala Muhammed, head of the Enforcement Unit, along with his team, the FFS confirmed that Transcorp Hilton is fire safety compliant and has been duly certified.
“Periodic drills such as this are essential in strengthening preparedness, preventing incidents, and ensuring the protection of lives and property.
“We commend the management and occupants of Transcorp Hilton for their cooperation and commitment to safety standards,” said Superintendent Muhammed.
Muhammed also addressed concerns regarding reports of a fire outbreak during the exercise, stating, “Any such report is inaccurate and stems from a misunderstanding of the routine safety drill.”
The Federal Fire Service reiterated its commitment to promoting preventive safety measures and building resilience across public and private establishments nationwide.
