The Abia State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially launched its Membership Mobilisation, Registration, and Revalidation (MMRR) exercise.
Announcing this on Sunday in a statement on its official X account, the ADC said the exercise will reinforce the party’s commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and grassroots engagement.
The event, held at the Kolping Event Centre in Umuahia, was presided over by the National Chairman, Senator David Mark, represented by the National Welfare Secretary, Comrade Nkem Ukandu.
ADC leaders and stakeholders in Abia State, including Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Hon. Uko Nkole, Hon. Eziuche Ubani, Dame Ngozi Onuoha Orji, Mr. Chimaeze Nwafor, and other dignitaries were in attendance, alongside state and local government leaders.
The National delegation also included Queen Nkechi Okiyi, Deputy National Publicity Secretary (DNPS), African Democratic Congress (ADC), who joined in witnessing the historic launch.
Speaking, Senator Mark reaffirmed ADC’s commitment to meritocracy and inclusiveness, stating that leadership in Abia State will be determined through legitimate processes and not by imposed candidates or stakeholder preferences.
He stated that the ADC offers a platform where every member’s voice matters and where fairness, accountability, and transparency are upheld.
Chairperson of the MMRR Committee, Dame Ngozi Onuoha Orji, highlighted the significance of the exercise in providing citizens with a political home, urging members to abandon factionalism and embrace unity.
A new national membership card and party register were also unveiled, ensuring a secure and organized framework for party membership.
The launch drew widespread participation and goodwill messages from party leaders, emphasizing the importance of grassroots mobilization, youth engagement, and unity as central pillars for electoral success.
The ADC added that it remains committed to empowering Nigerians and strengthening democratic participation at all levels.
