Former deputy governor, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, has officially assumed office as the Chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the inauguration of a new set of State Executive Committee members expected to manage the Party’s affairs for the next four years.

The event, which took place on Friday at the Oke-Ado Ibadan State Secretariat, marked the climax of the party’s congresses in the state for 2026.

The South West Zonal Legal Adviser of the APC, Barrister Kolawole Majaro, administered the oath of office to Adeyemo and thirty-five others who had emerged through consensus at the March 3, 2026, State Congress held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan, under the supervision of the Amos Gombi-led Committee deployed from the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

In his acceptance speech, Adeyemo described his emergence as the new chairman of the APC in the state as another call to service.

“This new State Executive Committee under my leadership is being put in place to add value and strengthen our great Party in view of the challenges ahead of us. I cannot help but appreciate all the leaders of the party from within and outside the state for their role in making the recently concluded congresses hitch-free and successful.

“We have used the opportunity of the congresses to showcase our collective commitment to unity and harmony as progressives and democrats. It is a new dawn in Oyo APC, and I am optimistic that the current atmosphere of peace and togetherness will be sustained before, during and after the next party primaries as we keep our eyes on the goals of securing 90 per cent votes for President Bola Tinubu and reclaiming Agodi Government House in 2027.

“President Tinubu is, no doubt, performing beyond our expectations, and the best way to appreciate his good work is to retain him in Aso Villa until 2031. Against all odds, the president is pursuing his Renewed Hope Agenda with vigour and passion, while the positive results are being felt in all the sectors of the economy as well as our national life. Therefore, it is imperative we give him the chance of a second term in office so that he can consolidate on his numerous achievements so far.” Adeyemo stated.

Other members of the executive committee who were inaugurated alongside Adeyemo included: Dr. Taofeek Lamidi (Deputy Chairman), Hon. Fatai Adesina (State Secretary), Dr. Adekemi Opatunde (Woman Leader), Olawale Sadare (Publicity Secretary), Olalekan Oladejo (Youth Leader), Remi Adepoju (Organising Secretary), Ajiboye Akinsanya (Treasurer), Sunday Aborisade (Legal Adviser), Alhaja Tinuade Adigun (Auditor), Lukman Owonikoko (Asst. State Secretary), Ma Fatimah Hassan (Deputy State Woman Leader), Jimoh Osundara (PLWD Leader), among others.
