Police arrest suspect, recover Pistol during patrol in Mushin

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Dare Shogaolu, popularly known as “Super M”, and recovered a locally made pistol during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Mushin area of the state.

The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi.

According to the statement, the suspect was apprehended on March 5, 2026, at about 10:00 p.m. by operatives of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team of the Mushin Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), while on routine patrol along the LUTH Road axis in Mushin.

Adebisi said the officers accosted the suspect after observing him carrying a white and orange-yellow polythene bag and acting suspiciously.

A search of the bag led to the recovery of one locally made pistol.

Other items recovered from the suspect included a black leather purse, charms, and three pairs of slippers.

Preliminary investigation by the police indicated that the suspect had allegedly been involved in several criminal activities within the area and was believed to have been responsible for causing disturbances in the community.

The Police spokesperson added that the suspect is currently in custody while investigations continue.
She also noted that efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend other members of the suspect’s alleged criminal group.
