Oyo State Commissioner of Police (CP), Femi Haruna, has assured residents of adequate security to guarantee a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.

In a statement yesterday, by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the commissioner, who commended Muslims for their devotion, prayers and sacrifices throughout the holy month, urged them to sustain the virtues of peace, tolerance and unity beyond the festive period.

ALSO, police in Ogun State have intensified security in worship centres and strategic locations in the 20 local councils of the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta.

MEANWHILE, the Delta State Police Command has announced a statewide deployment of personnel, signalling both heightened vigilance and growing concerns over potential threats to public safety.

The state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Aina Adesola, ordered what the Command described as a “robust operational deployment,” involving conventional police officers, tactical units, and other security personnel, to strategic places to safeguard lives and property.

Adesola, therefore, in a strongly-worded warning, cautioned criminal elements, particularly cultists and “mischief-makers,” to steer clear of unlawful activities, stressing that the Command is fully prepared to respond decisively to any disruption of public peace.
