The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has tasked the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP) to mobilise no fewer than 150 million supporters nationwide for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Kalu gave the directive on Thursday in Abuja while hosting a delegation of the support group drawn from Edo, Ekiti, and Katsina states.
The visit, held on the sidelines of the national convention of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was aimed at reaffirming the readiness of Renewed Hope Partners to advance and promote the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.
Speaking during the meeting, Kalu—founder of the initiative—reiterated that the group’s core objective is to promote government achievements, strengthen democratic values, and secure Nigeria’s future.
He urged members to take the Renewed Hope Agenda to grassroots communities, including markets, places of worship, motor parks, and academic institutions nationwide.
“This initiative speaks to the future of Nigeria. Whatever we do today is to make our nation better in the years to come,” he said.
Kalu emphasized the need for widespread grassroots engagement, noting that the group aims to establish campus branches in all universities and maintain a presence in all local government areas.
“We want to be everywhere people gather—markets, churches, mosques, motor parks—so that the agenda becomes part of everyday conversations,” he added.
He further charged members to simplify and communicate government policies in local languages to enhance public understanding and acceptance.
According to him, the group’s activities will include voter mobilisation, advocacy, and public enlightenment.
“If it is voter registration, you mobilise. If it is campaigns, you engage. If it is advocacy, you lead. Our goal is to make the President’s agenda the people’s agenda,” he said.
Kalu described the target of 150 million online supporters as ambitious but achievable, noting that early registration figures indicate growing public interest.
He added that the group’s mandate extends beyond the 2027 elections to legislative advocacy, including support for key reforms such as reserved seats for women, independent candidacy, local government autonomy, and state policing.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the group, Mathias Ehizua, said the delegation visited to brief the Deputy Speaker on progress made within two months of the group’s establishment, particularly regarding its digital membership drive.
Ehizua noted that RHP distinguishes itself through its online database system, which enhances transparency and coordination.
In separate remarks, Ekiti State Secretary, Kayode Eso; Katsina Zonal Coordinator, Bishir Yahaya; and Edo State Women Leader, Judith Ife, pledged commitment to expanding membership across polling units, wards, and local government areas.
Also speaking, Edo State Coordinator, Armstrong Adedigba, disclosed that 11,800 members have already been registered in the state within two months, adding that civil society and religious groups are showing interest in joining the initiative.
