LASG says motivated workforce cornerstone of sustainable governance, economic growth
Ogun State Government, yesterday, approved one day off duty in a week and N10,000 transport allowance palliative for workers in the state, following the increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in the country.
The state’s Head of Service (HoS), Kehinde Onasanya, who made this known in a statement yesterday, in Abeokuta, the state capital, said that the Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration took the step to cushion the effect of petrol hike, which had resulted in the spike in cost of living and transportation in the state.
He said that the one-day-off duty would not apply to essential duty workers, such as medical, judicial, and security personnel, teachers, and heads of departments, noting that they will also benefit from the transport allowance.
The HoS added that accounting officers in the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) would decide the specific day-off duty for eligible workers to avoid disrupting service delivery.
