It is popularly said that every reaction is gotten from an action. Our actions are as important as words in motion. A woman decided to pack out of her matrimonial home after a quarrel with her husband. I asked her where she was going to pack to with her four children and she replied that she would stay with her sister, who lives in another city of Nigeria.
Her sister was married and also had children of her own, so, I asked this woman how long she would stay with her sister. She had no answer. She then saw that she cannot stay with her sister indefinitely. It then dawned on her that she did not weigh her actions. She acted on the anger of that moment. When she thought it through, she decided to return to her husband’s home and make her marriage work out.
I have discovered that many people act out of emotions and not reasoning. They act because of the immediate pain, anger or even joy they are feeling.
We must learn to consider our actions. Let your conscience guide every action you take because like words, actions are crucial in determining one’s place in life and destiny.
David’s action of numbering the people of Israel brought down God’s wrath and led to the loss of seventy thousand lives. His action of repentance on the other hand, made God withdraw the plague from Israel.
Before you take any action, first of all, think of it through. Think of how the action will affect you and others, either positively or negatively. Ask the Holy spirit for His leadership and direction.
Colossians 3:17 says: “And whatever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus….’’ Always ascertain that your actions bring glory to the name of God.
As a wife, husband, child, and domestic staff, among others, think deep about the end result before you take any action and make sure that your action glorifies God’s name.
Love you!
