There is excitement in Gusau, Zamfara State, following the arrival of FIFA quality grass turf at the Sardauna Memorial Stadium. It was delivered through Apapa Port, Lagos, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing transformation of sports infrastructure in Zamfara State.

The consignment, which represents premium grade playing surface materials, is part of efforts to upgrade the stadium to meet international football standards, improving both performance conditions and player safety.

The project is being driven with technical expertise from Monimichelle Sports Facility Construction Ltd, a leading sports infrastructure company in Nigeria known for delivering world class hybrid synthetic turf systems across major stadiums in the country and Africa.

Speaking on the development, stakeholders expressed optimism that the installation of the FIFA quality turf will reposition Sardauna Memorial Stadium as a key sporting hub in Northern Nigeria, capable of hosting elite football matches in the NPFL and development programs.Once completed, the upgraded pitch is expected to enhance grassroots development, attract competitive fixtures, and support Zamfara State’s broader vision for sports driven youth engagement and economic growth.
