Gwarzo obtains APC nomination form, battles Barau in Kano North Senatorial race

Former Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo has picked nomination and interest forms of All Progressives Congress (APC) to join Kano North Senatorial district race in the party primaries.

Gwarzo, who had earlier declared interest to wrestle power from the Deputy President of the Senate Sen. Barau I Jibrin on Wednesday submitted his interest form to the state party secretariat in Kano.

Gwarzo, a former deputy governor and close associate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was removed as Minister of State for Housing last year and replaced with Abdullahi Ata, an anointed nominee of the deputy President of Senate.

Gwarzo’s nomination form was obtained by member of the House of Representatives representing Gwarzo and Kabo Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdullahi Mu’azu Baban Gandu, alongside a former Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area, Hon. Hassan Garban Kauye Farawa, at the party headquarters, Abuja.

While presenting his interest form to the state Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, Gwarzo fondly known as ATM pledged to offer equitable legislative services to the people of Kano North, if afforded the opportunity to bear the party flag.

ATM worried that the senatorial district lack quality and credible representation at the National Assembly, vowed to restore the lost glory with constituency projects that will transform social economic wellbeing of the people of the constituent.

He reiterated his wealth of experience and track record in public service both as commissioner of water resources, deputy governor and Minister of housing, assured the credentials are credible enough to turn around the fortune of the constituent.

While seeking the blessing of the party to sustain the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Kano, ATM said he would intensify his political consultations and strategic preparations ahead of the party primary.

Party Chairman, Hon. Doguwa disclosed that APC will is prepared to offer equal and level play ground to all aspirants to test their popularity during primaries. Doguwa affirmed the commitment to abide by the rule of the game while wishing the aspirants best opportunity to represent Kano North Senatorial district.
