Bandits and terrorist gangs operating under the guise of Fulani militancy have again attacked Kogot village in Vwang (Vom) District of Jos South Local Council Area of Plateau State, killing two members of the family of the Chairman of the Berom Youths Moulder-Association (BYMA).
Local sources said the attackers struck at about 11:00 p.m. on May 11, 2026, killing Ngo Shettu Badung, 78, and Danjuma Badung, 52. The attack reportedly occurred shortly after the military arrested eight local guards in Vwang at Danwal in Ganawuri Chiefdom.
BYMA National Publicity Secretary, Rwang Tengwong, who disclosed the incident yesterday, also condemned the killing of two other Berom youths by suspected armed Fulani terrorists at Kyeng village in Bachi District of Riyom Local Council Area.
The victims, Peter Dung, 22, and Amos Bele Danbwarang, 19, were reportedly ambushed and shot dead at about 7:20 p.m. before the attackers fled into nearby bushes.
Tengwong described the attacks as barbaric and inhuman, saying they were part of the continued assaults on innocent indigenous communities in the state.
The association called on security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice is served, while urging governments at all levels to take decisive steps to end the persistent killings across Plateau communities.
