Some would argue that the event is not about ‘who is wearing what’ but about accolades and recognition of outstanding works put into the African Television, film and content creation industry. While others would stand on what has become a glaring fact over the years, that the event thrives most on the designers of the dresses the individuals who show up for the event are wearing, thus, the maker of these dresses becomes one of the major headliners of the annual event.

Who makes a dress with 500 loaves of Agege Bread? Who constructs a dress with hundreds of balloons? Only a Toyin Lawani with her magic touch of serial entrepreneurship can pull all these successfully reiterating the fact of ‘Creativity Na water’.

Any wonder she came up with these duo concepts for two celebrities for the 2026 AMVCA and executed each dress into a showcase that got the world talking on all stages the minute each of these ladies stepped into the event venue buzzing the red carpet last weekend.

The concept of the 300 loaves of bread dress Lawani revealed is to showcase the craft of her client Mary Atang, a reality star queen who is the owner of the Switcakes Desserts who had recently added bread to her bakery menu. While the dramatic avante-garde yellow-gold balloon dress for actress Eniola Ajao is a showcase of a masterpiece of wearable art.

The Prudent Gabriel
Dearest Fashion and AMVCA Lovers in Nigeria and around the world, Prudent Gabriel is the Nigerian designer responsible for the exquisite black ball dress worn by your favourite celebrity Toyin Abraham aka ‘Oversabi Aunty.

The award winning fashion designer, entrepreneur and influencer graciously built a black ball gown highlighting a bright gold front layout with intricate chest and neck gold beadings.

Mcnwatu Official For Your Attention
Who is a queen maker? Behold Mcnwatu Official – when the brand further proved that the most recent Big Brother Naija Winner Imisioluwa Ayanwale aka Ijoba 606 of the 10/10 season is indeed a queen to the core at the 2026 AMVCA.

Of course Imisi is the queen of soft elegance and steeze, nothing less or more, she matches all energy, and this great Nigerian fashion design brand Mcnwatu made sure of that when they designed Ayinke’s custom off shoulder purple and silver dress in a soft elegant, refined and clean craft featuring calm dazzling beads. This dress is giving Ijoba 606 in her ‘soft girl era’.

Meet Mimi Linda Yina
Medlin boss, Mimi Linda Yina of Medlin Couture is one designer and stylist to reckon with for this 2026 edition of AMVCA as she also put one of Big Brother Naija’s reality TV show star from the 10/10 season, Sultana Farida Auduson Ibrahim in an elegant strapless nude-illusion pink sculptural mermaid gown hand beaded with fuchsia, magenta and rose-pink crystals which helped her win the Guinness Best Dressed Female tittle.
