Kaduna Governor, Uba Sani, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Suleiman Sa’ad Abubakar as the new Emir of Kagarko.
A statement issued by the Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Sadiq Mamman-Lagos on Monday, said that the appointment is with immediate effect.
The statement disclosed that the new emir who was the San Turakin Kagarko, emerged after a rigorous selection process .
According to the Commissioner, a pool of contestants were screened by the kingmakers of the Kagarko Emirate Council and Suleiman was eventually selected.
Besides, the statement also recalled that the appointment of the new emir followed the death of the late 2nd Class Emir of Kagarko, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, who died on January 8, 2026, after ruling the Emirate for six years.
Mamman-Lagos added that Governor Sani has congratulated the new Emir on ascending the throne of his forefathers.
The Commissioner disclosed that arrangements for the formal installation ceremony and presentation of the staff of office to the new emir will be communicated in due course.
“The Governor also charged the new Emir to steadfastly promote peace and harmony within his communities,” the Commissioner added.
