Ogun State Police Command has launch investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of one Obikoya Adewale in Ijebu-Ode.

Adewale reportedly hanged himself in Molode area of Sabo, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State

The tragic incident occurred on Saturday

In a video that has since gone viral, the his lifeless body was seen hanging from the roof of a house

According to the voices captured in the video, the deceased was not a resident of the house and was believed to have come to the apartment to kill himself

When contacted, Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta yesterday

Babaseyi added that investigation has commenced to unravel circumstances surrounding the death.

He said, “On Saturday, about 0840hrs, information was received that one Obikoya Gbenga Adewale (M), an adult male of Sabo Area, Ijebu Ode, was found dead in circumstances suspected to be suicide.

“Upon receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), accompanied by his team, visited the scene. Necessary documentation was carried out and photographs were taken in line with standard procedure.

The body was preserved for further examination, while investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.”

The police spokesperson encouraged residents to prioritize their health, especially their mental health.

Babaseyi reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting lives and promoting community wellbeing, and urged anyone with concerns about a loved one to reach out early and get support.
