Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has congratulated his Ekiti State counterpart, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, on securing a second term in office following his victory in Saturday’s governorship election.
Aiyedatiwa, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, said the electoral outcome was a decisive affirmation of Oyebanji’s leadership vision and governance model.
According to the governor, the people of Ekiti State spoke clearly through the ballot box to endorse what he describes as the developmental trajectory set in the first term of the Oyebanji administration.
Aiyedatiwa further commended the peaceful atmosphere of the election, praising both the electorate and security agencies for maintaining order during the process.
While describing the conduct of the Ekiti people as exemplary and a model for democratic practice, Aiyedatiwa also congratulated Dayo Faduyile on his victory in the just-concluded Ondo South Senatorial by-election, describing the outcome as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in him by the people of the district.
The governor stated that the victory of the former president of the Nigerian Medical Association underscores the people’s belief in his capacity to provide effective representation and advance the interests of Ondo South at the National Assembly.
Aiyedatiwa noted that Faduyile’s contributions to medicine, academia, and public service have equipped him for the task ahead, expressing confidence that he would deploy his vast experience and expertise in the service of the people.
“On behalf of the government and good people of Ondo State, I warmly congratulate Professor Francis Adedayo Faduyile on this well-deserved victory. His emergence is a further affirmation of the faith our people have in purposeful leadership. I am confident that he will offer quality representation and work with relevant stakeholders to promote the development and prosperity of Ondo South and our dear state,” the governor said.
Aiyedatiwa also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies, and the electorate for ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral process.
He urged all stakeholders to rally round the senator-elect in the collective interest of the progress and development of Ondo South Senatorial District.
