The South-West leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reiterated its support for the party’s governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, ahead of the 2027 general election.

The zonal executives, led by the Acting South-West Zonal Chairman of the party, Mr Lateef Ibirogba, gave the assurance during a solidarity and courtesy visit to Alli in Ibadan on Friday.

Ibirogba described the senator as a credible, experienced and widely accepted leader with the capacity to reposition Oyo State and restore sustainable growth, unity and development.

He said the South-West leadership of the APC was fully committed to working with stakeholders across the state to ensure the party reclaimed power in Oyo in 2027.

According to him, the visit was part of efforts to strengthen unity within the party and mobilise support for the governorship candidate.

“We are in Oyo State to strengthen unity within the APC family and to ensure that every stakeholder works together for the success of the party in 2027.

“Our mission is to foster reconciliation, encourage cooperation and mobilise support for our candidate so that APC can return to government in Oyo State,” he said.

Ibirogba added that the zonal leadership had also met with other governorship aspirants in the state, urging them to embrace reconciliation and work together in the interest of the party.

Responding, Alli thanked the South-West leadership of the APC for the visit and the vote of confidence in his candidacy.

He pledged to continue promoting inclusiveness, consultation and unity within the party, stressing that the APC’s victory in the 2027 governorship election would depend on collective sacrifice and genuine reconciliation among members.

The senator also assured party leaders of his commitment to providing responsible leadership and delivering good governance aimed at improving the welfare of residents and accelerating development across Oyo State if elected.
