Odesola, Nwabuikwu, Okeugo, others for Lagos education programme

The Continental Overseer of Continent 3 of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Johnson Odesola; an education management consultant, researcher and former Faculty lecturer of English as a Second Language (ESL), Birmingham, Dr Stephanie Nwabuikwu; Director of Intermarc, Dr Adeyinka Adeyemi, and Group Head, Education, Sterling Bank, Yonodu Okeugo, have been confirmed as speakers for the Lagos Informal Settlements Education Improvement Programme, scheduled for Wednesday, July 2, 2026 at the Akinwunmi Ambode Youth Centre, Yaba, Lagos.

In a statement, the Convener and Founder of Youth Advocate for Change, Adeola Ogunlade, described the initiative as a strategic intervention designed to improve teachers’ effectiveness, strengthen school leadership, enhance digital readiness and promote inclusive education in low-income and underserved communities across Lagos State.

He said the programme would equip teachers with practical skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital learning and innovative teaching methods, while promoting learner-centred pedagogy, classroom innovation and teacher leadership.

According to Ogunlade, the programme will also advance STEM education and digital literacy, while addressing child safeguarding, mental health, student wellbeing and institutional sustainability.

He added that the initiative would foster collaboration among government agencies, schools, NGOs, technology firms and development partners, while creating opportunities for teachers and schools to access professional development, grants and other educational resources.

Ogunlade noted that the event would also serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, policy dialogue and strategic partnerships aimed at advancing quality education in underserved communities across Lagos State.
