Senate Leader promises President 500,000 votes in Ekiti

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving over N1.137 trillion for the construction and rehabilitation of eight road projects across the three senatorial districts of the state.

In a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists in Ibadan, yesterday, Alli described the approval as a historic intervention that would transform the state’s infrastructure, stimulate economic growth, enhance regional connectivity and improve the living standards of the people.

The senator promised that the people of Oyo State would reciprocate the gesture by giving Tinubu and the APC overwhelming support in the 2027 general elections.

Also, the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, has expressed optimism that Tinubu would secure at least 500,000 votes in the coming presidential race in Ekiti State, in appreciation of his warm, fatherly support and beneficial political leadership.

Bamidele, represented by his Senior Legislative Assistant, Gbenga Banji, spoke, yesterday, in Ado-Ekiti during the signing of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s nomination forms as the APC’s senatorial candidate by the ward chairmen across the 57 wards in the five local councils in Ekiti Central Senatorial District.

He said that though the party set a threshold of 500,000 votes, “we gave 391,224 for Governor Biodun Oyebanji, saying that it was a significant improvement compared to what had happened when the governor won with 187,234 in 2022.

Responding on behalf of the ward chairmen, Kayode Oladimeji said that all constituents in Ekiti Central were resolute in mobilising aggressively for the Senate Leader and Tinubu in the coming elections, predicting that their support would overwhelm the opposition in the state.
