The European African Chamber of Commerce and Industries (EuroAfrica CCI) has appointed veteran communications strategist and journalist, Genesis Kelly Prince Udebhulu, as its Director of Media and Publicity for the Africa Region.
Udebhulu, popularly known as Prince Kelly Udebhulu and an indigene of Edo State, Nigeria, will lead the chamber’s media and public relations operations across Africa, with responsibility for promoting its programmes, strengthening stakeholder engagement and enhancing the organisation’s visibility across the continent.
Announcing the appointment, EuroAfrica CCI described Udebhulu as an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in strategic communication, public affairs, media management and development advocacy.
The chamber said his appointment reflects its commitment to strengthening communication and engagement as it expands efforts to promote trade, investment and economic cooperation between Europe and Africa.
In his new role, Udebhulu will oversee the chamber’s media strategy across the African region, coordinate public relations activities, drive brand visibility, manage relationships with media organisations and ensure consistent messaging across traditional and digital communication platforms.
He is also expected to deepen collaboration among governments, businesses, investors and development partners, while supporting initiatives that encourage cross-border investment and sustainable economic development.
According to the chamber, Udebhulu’s passion for economic development, investment promotion and strategic communication has earned him recognition across both the public and private sectors.
It expressed confidence that his leadership would further strengthen the organisation’s efforts to bridge European expertise with Africa’s innovation ecosystem, creating new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships and inclusive economic growth.
The chamber added that effective communication will remain central to advancing cooperation across key sectors, including agriculture, renewable energy, manufacturing, healthcare, education, tourism, culture and human capital development.
The appointment has attracted commendation from members of the Edo State community in the United Kingdom.
In a congratulatory message, the President of Edo State indigenes in the UK, Dr. Osalobo Aghedo, described Udebhulu’s appointment as a fitting recognition of his professionalism, dedication and longstanding contributions to strategic communication.
