The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the August 15, 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun State, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO, has pledged academic scholarship from the elementary up to the university level for the seven-month-old baby of the slain APC loyalist who lost his life to a motor accident recently in Ede.

Oyebamiji also promised to facilitate permanent employment for the wife of the deceased and a member of his family.

It would be recalled that on June 23, 2026, a trailer rammed into the vehicle conveying APC members during a peaceful canvassers’ inauguration in Ede-North Local Council.

The ugly incident claimed the life of Ahmed Abdulrazak, a party loyalist while many sustained degrees of injury.

However, the APC flagbearer, during a condolence visit to the bereaved family members, represented by his wife, Dr Sekinah Bola-Oyebamiji, disclosed his readiness to support them, particularly the child of the deceased.

HOWEVER, the Campaign Council of the APC for Oyebamiji, yesterday, chided Governor Ademola Adeleke over alleged non-adherence to Fiscal Responsibility Law.

The Council in a statement by its Spokesperson, Remi Omowaiye, said that the persistent concealment of the state’s financial records had become a serious threat to transparency, accountability and good governance.

Omowaiye said that Adeleke’s administration had failed to publish the First Quarter (Q1) 2026 budget implementation report as expressly required by law, saying that such a development amounted to alleged fiscal indiscipline.

MEANWHILE, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged residents to remain security conscious in view of the prevailing security challenges across the country.

It also called for greater collaboration with traditional institutions to promote peaceful civic engagement ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

Osun State Director of the agency, Adebiyi Adefarasin Stephen, appealed during an advocacy visit to the Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama, where he led the agency’s management team on a sensitisation programme.
